Go to Claires, they have a little bottle of ear solution that works wonders! Use a q-tip or a cotton ball and rotate the earring several times a day.

Clean it frequently with alcohol. It is going to sting but will kill the infection. Rotate the stud in the hole frequently as well when you are cleaning.

Antibiotics, or just keep it in until it heals

Use alcohol and get ready to run. It will hurt but it will keep the area clean and sanitized.

Put surgical spirits on it morning and night with a cotton earbud until it gets better :)

GO TO THE DOCTOR IDIOT......

Clean it several times a day with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol or hydrogen peroxide.

hydrogen peroxide... it's an antiinfective.

Use either hydrogen peroxide or neosporin on it. Keep the earring in. If it is not better in a few days go back to the piercing place or go to the doctor.

clean it with a q-tip with rubbing alchohol

Clean the area with alcohol, make sure that the earring in there is gold (artificial earrings cause infections sometimes) keep it clean and wait it out, if it gets too bad see your doctor for some antibiotics.

Take the earring out, clean the piercing with alcohol or peroxide along with an antibiotic cream. If the infection doesn't go down, go see your doctor about getting some antibiotics.

Cut it off...you'll be a famous musician if you do.

mix a 1/2 water, 1/2 peroxide solution and apply it a few times a day. rotate the earring a few times a day just to get any crust off of it and besides that just leave it alone. the peroxide will clear it up! best wishes

clean it 2 times a day with water and antibacterial soap. and dont pick it! and you will be fine. it will start to feel better but keep doing it til you are pretty sure its healed.

When you got it pierced were you given anything to clean the piercing with? If not, go to a piercing place and buy something and then proceed to clean it.
Also, I've heard that you can help your body fight the infection with heat. So use a blow dryer set to hot, but that is just a supplement to cleaning it.

Clean it. Wait it out. NEVER take the jewelry out of an infected piercing to allow for drainage of the infection. Wait until the infection clears. If you take jewelry out of an infected piercing, the piercing can close up sealing the infection inside. This will result in an abscess and a nasty situation.

By the way, I've had my upper ear pierced and it never healed fully. It's just one of those.

Get some Bactine. It's right next to the ban aids in the store. Swab the area front and back. If you have a hoop try to rotate it a bit. Do this a couple times a day. The Bactine will kill out the infection but not dry it out like using alcohol or peroxide on it.

i get that every now and then, its usually due to taking it out and putting it back in with dirty fingers or switchin earrings without cleaning them first. if you dont have any, buy some 'surgical spirit' (what the proffesionals use on your ear before they peirce it) and dap some on cotton buds or balls and soothe your ear. it might sting, but it really is the best way to get your ear back to normal. clean the earring first also with the spirit before putting it back in your ear. but dont leave the earring out for too long, coz it KILLS when you put it back in and its started to close!
it really hurt me on my cartrilladge when i did that!
hope this helps, x

Take the earring out and clean the piercing out with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol. Clean the piercing 2 - 3 times a day. If it doesn't start to heal in a day or two, call your doctor.

Is it swollen? Did the person that pierce it give you a solution to put on it. If the guy that pierced it didn't give you solution then use anti bacterial hand soap. Don't use alcohol. you wash your hair or put moisturizer in your hair when the pierce was fresh?

It may be infected or irritated. Try using the ear solution on your ear and putting ice close to the piercing, but not on it. If it persist, then you should go to the doctors to get it removed. The infection could travel.

Hey.
I dont think it is infected.
Did you recently get the ear pierced cuz if you did their is acertain time your posted to where the earings not stop and the redness whould be normal. if thats not the case then the hole is either closing in or you hvae on an earing that is applying pressure to your ears. If you truly believ you are infected then i advice seeing a doctor. But if not.. it would be best to take the earing off for a while... make sure you clean the hole and apply a small pece of ice to it until it gets better. Good Luck!! Hope I helped!!
