Question: I just checked my blood pressure, it is 109 systolic over 60 diastolic and pulse 51 bpm. What do the systolic and diastolic mean? I think I am in good shape, but is there a number I need to work on?

you are well within recommended guidelines...you could be called very healthy with that reading your blood pressure is very good...
blood pressure:-
systolic = artery pressure (outgoing from heart).
dystolic = vein pressure (returning to heart)
bpm (beats per minute) 51 is low but tends to lower in fit people.
Normal - 120/80 mm hg +/- 10 mm hg Pulse - 72/min
Blood pressure can vary according to position, work, stress etc....
Checking blood pressure in evening i.e around 6.30 - 7.00 pm provides the most accurate reding.
