My friend broke her wrist, will her cast be up to her elbow?!

Question: it's just her wrist, just wondering

Answers: it's just her wrist, just wondering

Most probably it will be almost half way up her arm towards the elbow. This is for stability keeping her arm straight so the wrist won't bend. Usually the cast will be right up to the knuckles and between the pointer finger and thumb wrapping around and covering the palm.

Usually it would be about half way up her forearm.

No, only up to about half her forearm.

it depends on how bad the fracture is. Most of the time they do, and the reason why they do it is to prevent the injured person from hurting the wrist any further by movement. Tell her to get a glow in the dark cast, my mom had one and it was cool.

When I broke mine, all I got was a stint. My doc said if I were a boy....he would've given me a cast. What gives? Prob b/c boys are more active? Soo.....who knows, it's up to the doc. But if it's just the wrist, it will be shorter. It's not like she broke her ulna.

Usually halfway up the arm. I see broken wrists all the time from people who try to learn how to snowboard and don't wear wrist guards. That's beat.
