I'm 15 and have bad circulation. What could be causing it?!

Question: I'm a healthy height and weight, I'm physically active, and I don't drink, smoke, or use recreational drugs.

In the last few weeks my legs have been falling asleep a lot. I was in the car for about 2 1/2 hours yesterday, and when I got out of the car, my leg was numb from calf to toe. Circulation came right back, but it was still weird. Also, I often wake up and have bad circulation in my arm and/or hand. I sleep on my side, but I'm careful about making sure I'm not squishing my arm or falling asleep on a bunched-up part of the sheets.

Sometimes my limbs will fall asleep when I'm just doing normal stuff. Sometimes the cause is obvious but usually I can't figure it out.

I'm curious because it seems to happen so easily.

What are some possible causes?

The feeling of numbness or 'pins and needles' from a leg 'falling asleep' is called paresthesia. It may be nothing more than normal non-dangerous nerve compression that you are simply being hyper aware of (if it is on you mind, you may be noticing it more without actually having any higher incidence than normal), a result of anxiety or dehydration (if it is one of those, you should be able to figure it out), or it could actually be something serious. Nerve damage, diabetes, Lyme disease, thyroid issues, nutrient deficiencies, exposure to various chemicals and other medical problems are possible causes. If it doesn't get better, talk to your parents and/or your doctor.

well if this is happening it could be normal but ur legs may be sensative, thats really it. but if ur woried, i would suggest talking to your docter.
