Chest pain??!

Question: I had a small pain in my chest for about a week (left to middle of my chest) and then one day it got pretty bad and it's been bad for about two days. It hurts when I move or lift things. Could I have pulled a muscle or something? Or could it be something worse? Any advice?

Does it hurt when you do exercise, then ease off when you stop?
Do you have any kind of numb or tingling feeling down your left arm?
Does the pain feel kind of like a tight belt?
Do you notice any changes to your pulse speed or strength?
If the answer is yes, then you should get it checked out. Worst case scenario it's angina which is a heart related problem.
If none of the above apply, then I would wait a couple of days and see if your condition improves. It could be a number of other things - as you say, a sprained muscle or a digestion problem.
If things get worse or you're worried about those questions, get it checked out asap. Better safe than sorry.

OMG...go to the doctor!

see a doctor
or go to the hospital

That sounds like the position of your heart.
Dont worry though, im sure its not that bad!
But i do recommend you visit your local GP and seek professional medical advice.

OK the best thing to do is see a doctor. Heart problems start as a pain in your left hand side, but this may not be the case especially if you are young, eat well and excersie well, but it's better to be safe then sorry, book an apointment maybe.

MAYBE YOUR BOOBS ARE GROWING!!!!

Do you remember doing anything that would have been a strain? If not, get it checked out to rule out heart attack.

If it hurts when you move it is most likely NOT a heart attack. You may have injured a muscle in your ribs, which we use for almost everything. Heat it.... take ibuprofin and take it easy! I did this recently and re injured it by coughing! Avoid twisting, tuning, reaching, and lifting heavy objects. May take a couple weeks to fully heal.

Go to the ER, NOW!!

GO TO THE DOCTOR NOW!!!

As others have said, you really need to get yourself to the emergency room if you are having chest pain. The first step in chest pain is to rule out anything life threatening like a heart attack, or unstable angina (a condition that can mean you are about to have a heart attack, perhaps in the next few days or weeks).

Don't panic, since if you are only 19, the chances that your pain is actually heart related is very small. But because of very dangerous and possibly life threatening consequences of not getting to an emergency room if it is heart related, you really need to go to one. Assuming the ER rules out a life threatening heart problem, then you can follow up with your normal doctor. But for now, get to an ER and rule out anything life threatening. This is especially true if you have never had an EKG done, and can't rule out any kind of underlying congenital heart defects. They will do an EKG at the ER.
