Loss of hearing??!

Question: I just got home from a show and my right ear has nitceably less hearing than my left?

Will this go away overnight?

Is there anything I can do?

I would really love not to be partially deaf.

Your hearing will come back after noise exposure, but not all the way back. There will be a dip in the high frequencies. More noise exposure, the deeper and wider the "V" gets, until it is into your speech frequencies. Since there is no one interested in controlling the volume at concerts, it is up to you to wear ear protection, or not go. Once you lose it, it is gone.
Shooters wear ear protection. Chain-saw guys wear ear protection. Flight-line people wear ear protection. Yet the noise at a concert can exceed the levels these people are exposed to.

I was in the 4th row of a ted Nugent concert in 1994. I was also pregnant with my son. When I got home I cried. My ears were ringing and I thought my baby was dead.... Your hearing will come back.... give it time. My ears rang for DAYS... Great concert tho... and Ted Nugent music as loud as you could get it was the only thing that made my son happy after he was born. (he was a colicky baby).. now he likes hard-core music... go figure.

Your hearing will return to normal in due time. Each time you listen to loud things, you damage your hearing little by little. After a while that will take it toll and regaining your hearing wont be so easy. Next time you go to a concert, wear ear plugs. It will protect your ears and the ringing wont drive you bonkers.
