I concur with your diagnosis, doctor. Not only does stretching and exercise increase mobility, the pain subsides and sleep is greatly improved.

Arthritis is an inflammation of the joints, along with pain, swelling, stiffness and deformity. There are several types:

Most common...Osteoarthritis- Incidences increase with age, but is not considered part of normal aging.

Other types of arthritis affect specific populations.

Lyme arthritis- mostly seen in children in North Eastern U.s.

Gonorrheal arthritis- people with gonorrhea that has spread to the joints.

Arthritis is totally different from rheumatic disease. Arthritis affects the joints only. Rheumatic disease also affects other tissues and organs.

You can get arthritis from conditions such as staph infections, rheumatic fever, gonorrhea, or TB or from having something like....gout. Conditions such as psoriasis, neuropathy, systemic lupus, and lots of other illnesses.

Other types of arthritis are: acute, adjuvant (seen in rodents), or bacterial. There are many small details that would take forever to go into...and my notes from school are extremely long!
