It sounds like you have an infection. When you say you're really sick, do you mean you have a bad cold or the flu?
Your lymph nodes are swollen, which is what happens when your body is fighting infection. You have lymph nodes in your neck, and if they're swollen enough you may feel them under your tongue. You should go to the doctor because you may have strep or an hemophilus influena bacteria that needs antibiotics.

In the meantime, hold a warm washcloth, heating pad or hot water bottle against the side of your neck and face on the swollen side for 10 minutes every hour. Sip on cool liquids continuously to help get the inflammation down. If you can take Advil or tylenol, do so to help with the discomfort. Rest with your head elevated so fluids can drain and to lessen the swelling.

It almost sounds like you have the mumps, although all kids should be vaccinated against them so that is unlikely.
It does not sound like an allergic reaction, unless you started a new medication or antibiotic.

EDIT: I just read your edit. What medicine are you taking? You can become allergic to a medication even if you have taken it before. If you are on penicillin or a sulfa drug, you could very well be having an allergic reaction. I developed an allergy to penicillin when I was in my 30's.

Go see your doc this morning. :)

allergy reaction to medicane go to the er quick!!!! hurry before your airway closes off

allergic reaction get to the damn hospital now call an ambulance

webmd.com or go to the doctors

I agree, it sounds like you've had a reaction to something. Are you allergic to anything that you know of?? As said above, you need to go and see a doctor asasp. It most likely is an allergic reaction, but it could be something worse.

Sounds like you have the mumps on one side. They can be had on one side at a time or both at the same time. You need to get to a doctor.

go to the emergency room
