it may be that the socket of your jaw isn't alligning right and is clicking in and out of place. an xray should show this, and if it is true, can be treated simply by having the dentist realign it.

I don't know what the problem is but I would definitely see your doctor about it.

my cracks when i talk eat and even kiss!!

I dont have an answer for you but will be looking out to see what everyone else says.

Its embassasing sometimes, it clicks whenever i open my mouth more than an inch.........weird eh. And it doesnt hurt at all......................strange

glad im not the only one.

This happened to my daughter some years ago and was diagnosed with an overbite. This is where the teeth do not line up in the mouth. She had to see an orthodontist and get braces and that cured it.

OMG me too, I think we can safely assume that this is normal and everybody else is weird..... same symptoms, jaw cracking whilst eating, kissing, attempting to eat an entire handful of pringles..... Actually I think I had it explained once and is something about being SEXY AS F*CK!! lol nah seriously I think it's a common thing women get during development. xxxxxxx

I have the exact same problem!! its a pain in the ***! hope someone can tell us what it is??

You need to see your dentist. There is a condition called TMJ (temporomandibular joint) which is treatable. It sounds like that to me.
BTW, google tmj and you'll get info.

I had this a few years back. It's probably TMJ - Temporomandibular joint disorder. I found some exercises on the internet and after doing them for a while I found that it stopped doing it. Every so often it comes back for a bit, but I just do a few exercises and it's normally okay again. I think this websites shows the exercises: http://www.fitzpatrickdmd.com/tmjtmd.htm...

This sounds like TMJ. Your dentist can show you some jaw muscle exercises to help. But the bottom line: there really is no permanent cure. You might look up TMJ on the internet for more insight. Dr Steve

The joint in your jaw could be unstable and is slipping slightly. The jaw is made of two bones the mandible at the bottom and the maxilla at the top. I was told that the bottom of my jaw, chin area, was too big for the top of my jaw and that this would cause my teeth to wear down quickly and result in the jaw completely dislocating by the time I was thirty. I was offerd an operation which involved enlarging my lowerr jaw. I didin't go for it and am well over thirty by now. My jaw has never dislocated and I still have my teeth.

well, according to my soccer coach, when joints crack (but no pain is felt) loudly and obnoxiously, it just means that extra air is trapped between the joint. (think of it as bubblewrap!) this happens constantly with my ankle. a few jaw stretches every night will release extra trapped air.

I think alot of these people are right, but 1st I should see your doctor, if he can
