Getting My doctor to prescribe Pain medication?!

Question: I'm wondering what is a good thing to say to my doctor so I can get a pain killer. Tylenol doesnt do it for me. They quit prescribing it for my cyst because they said i have to have it removed before they'll give me more pain medicine for that. It recently snowed hard here any ideas of what lies I could tell to get my pain medicine back.. maybe a really bad pulled muscle.

id like some vicodin to so ill be watching this question

Breast cyst I had one and was given no pain killers. However I was told to try evening primrose oil and that regulates the hormones and has worked for me. What is the problem with having the cyst removed? The sooner the better, because the longer you leave it, the worse it will be. When they removed mine it turned out to be not just one, but a cluster of cysts. If you start to lie to gain pain medication now, then when you really need it, they might think you are lying again. Therefore be careful what you say. Good Luck

I have been in a pain management program for years and here is what I do.

Start a daily journal of when you hurt, where you hurt, how badly you hurt, and anything else about your pain and discomfort. Nothing fancy just a little notebook works fine.

Either write a little summary from that information or take the notebook with you to the doctor. Make sure to include any question you want to ask the doc.

This is a method that all the doctors I have been to think is great and very helpful.

When you only have a few minutes to talk to the doctor and you are nervous from being there anyway it's hard to remember everything you want the doctor to know.
