Popping sound coming from front outer part of knee. No recent known injury or tr!

Question: I am not sure what is causing it, but i have this popping sound coming from my front outer part of my knee, this is the only way i know to describe it. It feels funny or tight when i move it. Not extremely tight when I move it. I can feel the popping right to the side of my knee cap on the front outside when i put my fingers there. I can feel it always, but I figure that if I can feel it with my fingers there, I can isolate what it is. Like I stated, I have not had any recent trauma to it. I do plan to see the doctor if it doesn't stop with in the next few days; I realized it doing this popping yesterday.
Any thoughts on what this might be, thanks!

A is for anterior...front

P is for Posterior...back

yours sound like a lateral (outside) mincus tear or a strain, beside surgery to trim it down, you will probably get some pain killers to get use to it untill it the nerves around it become numb

well like the first guy said that sounds about right, so you may want to see a doctor and have him put you thru physical therapy, and if that don't work then see if you can find a orthopedic doc. that can do laproscopic surgery
