It depends where in the foot the pin is. I have had three pins taken from my foot right in the doctors office, no meds at all. It did hurt a little but no big deal. I have had plates and screws also removed but for this I was asleep. The pain was nothing like the pain when the plates. screws and pins were put in. The doctor will give you pain medication if necessary.

yes, i have had six screws and two metal plates in each foot and i have had every single one removed from my right foot. they put you under, remove the screw or pin suture it or use steri strips depending on th type of incision and send you home with some pain meds. you will be sore, but it is no big deal. good luck!! if it is a small pin, they may just numb you foot and yank it out, still no big deal.
well honey did you go to the doctor and did he took it out..well if you took it out u need to go to the doctor and see if it iss an infection....i am a doctor my self and those things are pretty tricky .....................i had a patient like that..that could get pretty bad when it is infected..and one thing do not get it wet....
