Help! Very bad back pain!?!

Question: I woke up this morning and my neck was already hurting. When I got up to turn my alarm clock off, I must have turned around too fast because I instantly felt a pain on the left side of my upper back. I don't have health insurance to where I can go to the chiropractor so what else could I do? Someone told me excercising would help but I can't hardly move! Much less lift weights or stretch.

Pulled muscles(which is what you have) need time to heal. At least you can walk as it's not in the lower back. Try a heating pad and or ice packs for relief. Tylenol and a comfortable position would be best for the day. NO to exercise or activity. That would be a disaster. Hope ya feel better.

well, probably the worst thing you can do right now is to try and lift some weights or stretch the wrong way. walking is one of the better cures, walk for 20 min (my own chiropractor advices i do that every day. not more, that will be too much), and try to use your whole body, not just walkin stiffly.

and if you have some muscular gel, tiger balm, any weird ointment that contains much camphor or menthol, ask someone to apply it richly on your back where you got the pain, and also try to loosen the muscles. that way your joints may come toghether in the right way by themselves.

but if the pain doesn't go away within a couple of days, i advice that you go see a chiropractor if you can somehow afford it.

For the short term go get a massage. For the long term exercise will strengthen your back and neck (and everything else) and should help prevent recurring pain.
