Question: I have this swelling on my arm as if I was bitten by a mosquito and it itches like a mosquito bite does also. Is this even possible in winter? I live in Wisconsin and it's 30*.

Sure a mosquito bite is possible. Mosquitos don't all croak in the winter, some of them will find nice warm spots to winter over in. That's where the new mosquitos in the spring come from. You didn't honestly think they migrated did you? A bite can come from many other things though, but for the most part it's not really important to identify the culprit. Just treat it like you would if it were July and see if it helps. And have a look around the place for standing water, in a warmish spot. As long as it's still water, and not frozen, those little suckers can hang in there.

could be a spider bite

Spider bite? or flea?

check for spiders.

Doubtful, they thrive in warmer areas, usually in standing water, if it's 30F then the water is frozen and the larva are frozen, I'd say pretty slim. Ingrown hair, maybe, flea bite, cellulitis, could be quite a few things, but a mosquito, slim to none.

Spider bites are usually painful. It could be a flea, chigger, bed bug, or other biting insect. Mosquitoes breed in stagnate water. I found that when my houseplants become a little over watered I find mosquitoes in the house. If you have plants make sure there's no water in the catch trays. If there is just dump the water out.
