I really think you need to call a smoking hotline. They're virtually everywhere, and they can talk you through a personalized plan. If you learn how to figure out what you need to do, then you need to get the willpower. Please, go get help. Please please please please please. I'm barely 15 years old and I've already lost four people to tobacco...
You don't know how many people you're hurting. ='[

Limit yourself to 6 cigs aday. One after each meal and 1 in between. You will not die if yo umissa weed. Then you can wean yourself totally off from there. Working for me.

nicoderm cq

get a patch or something.
anything to quit killing yourself

dude get a hold of your self. and see your doctor.

ask your doctor about medicines that can decrease the desire. it worked for my dad who would have at least 3 packs a day!! now he doesnt even have any

PLEASE carry on smoking. The taxes on tobacco pay for the army, the opera, the NHS, all of which I enjoy. It is a dumb tax levied on the weak-willed, knock-kneed, lily-livered public. You should be proud you are supporting my life style.

hi Paul I realy sympathise I have been through 3 days of pure hell and fell into the deepest depression that I have ever experianced back on the smokes after yesterday I realy and truely felt suicidal (not joking) I need help with giving up I cant do it on my own

search what happens to you on google and all the ingreidients in one cigarette, maybe that will gross you out.
also consider the people you'll affect and everything.
Buy a book, that gum stuff, patches whatever.
try your hardest!!!!
smoking is the stupidest thing to do,
and the worst way to kill yourself.

i did a science project on this and yes it KILLS you!! not only u but animals and other people too! second hand smoking is just as bad as smoking.

say u buy 2 packs a week thats about what $12 do u know how much u would save if u stopped?? more than $728 a year!

each cig. shortens your life.

go to a doctor and get Byetta
my dad uses it
1. it helps u stop smoking
2. it also helps u loose wait

all it is is a shot in the stomach and before u judge it, it dosent even hurt because f the super thin needle
it worth it trust me!!!

Gum works for many. Keep yourself busy.

You should talk to your Doctor they will be able suggest ways you can give up.

I have been using this alternative therapy called Emotional Freedom Technique on my anxiety and depression which has helped me a lot. It's very good at getting rid of all kinds of negative emotions and dealing with all kinds of issues quickly. It does sound crazy but does work. It might be something that can help you. If you type smoking in to the search engine of emofree.com you should find some arcticles about EFT helping people who give up smoking. Also try some of the techniques from the third link.

have a cig that's better than killing yourself
recomend getting hypnotherapy though

Congratulations, you are addicted to cigarettes, you have a drug addiction. Quit if you can, anyway you can, different ways work for different people, I know someone who's quit using any strategy you care to name. The best one is the one that works for you. Try them all, try them again, until you never get the chance to quit again. It's just as hard to quit smoking as quit alcohol or heroin, same rate of relapse with all three of them. Trick is, and you really have to want to quit, and once you're over the first few days withdrawal, NEVER EVER DO IT AGAIN.

repeat every day for the rest of your life.

oh yeah, you CAN actually live the rest of your life without a cigarette, you're just confused because you're addicted. Don't let your addiction justify itself.

There are tablets available.

It's a myth that cigarettes beat stress; in fact they make your heart beat faster and generally stimulate (ie OPPOSITE OF RELAX) your nervous system.

Try Champix. Worked for me. Or maybe Zyban. Just quit the cigarettes and the excuses.

Hello: people who have never smoked have a lot of why"s and how's. Take it from a ex-smoker. it's hard as hell. I have medical problems that made it a must to stop smoking. I found one true way it worked for me. I chose to get the RX Chant ix. I read all the side affects and everything else. But It worked. I have CO PD Asthma HTN Diabetes. Heart problems. If I can take it and still be strong so can you. I went through my doctor who wrote the Rx for me.It was better than me to continue to smoke.Yes you have side affects. It was worth it, I had some exotic dreams. But in the long run, it was worth it. But before you do anything check with your doctor.
ADD: you smoke for the first 7 days while you are on the pill, on the 8th day you don't smoke, you just take the pills, don't quit, keep going it does work. You'll feel better, try it please, please try it.Life is worth it, it really is

It depends on what sort of personality you are as to what route would work best for you.

A lot of people swear by Allan Carrs' book. I have used it and for me it worked amazingly well.

Others swear equally by patches/gum/lozenges and knowing that they will have their carbon monoxide levels checked by someone else.

If you are ready to do it for you, and to stop because YOU are worth it, buy the book.

If you know that you would be happier and more likely to be successful if there is someone else checking up on you and that you would 'fail' if you let them down then go for the GP route.

Either way it may be worth looking into councelling as well, partly to understand why someone who is perfectly intelligent and literate etc would want to keep repeating behaviour that is harmful to them and that they don't even like!

Best of luck, if you can get the book, IME you won't need luck or strength, it's a doddle!

My history? 35 year old, smoked for 23 years since I was 12, upto 30 a day at times, and watched my beloved husband die of (non smoking related) cancer nearly two years ago. Even that was not enough to make me want to stop (I"needed" it....yeah right...)

Get it gone, you are choosing to stop for a day, not quit for life. As long as each morning when you wake up you choose to be a non smoker for that day and that day only, then you will have won!
