Can you tell me what this is....?!

Question: Every now and then my eyelid will itch and then I will go to sleep and wake up and my eye is swollen ( it was swollen shut one time) And then after about a day it goes away on its own. It has nothing to do with my eyeball itself, no redness in it or nothing, its just my eyelid. Its really weird. I have never had allergies, so I don't think its that, and I have taken benadryl when its happened and it didn't do anything.. Does anyone know what this is, its annoying.. Help please....Also I don't have any pets or anything.

Some possibilities include:

1. Blepharitis
A common eyelid inflammation
2. Chalazion
Slow-growing swelling of the upper or lower eyelid usually caused by a blockage in the oil glands in the eyelid
3. Conjunctivitis
Contagious eye infection

Those are just possibilities with those symptoms, but it would be BEST to go to the doctor and get it checked out. What doctor says is always best.
