Please help - Heart pounding, flushed, tingling sensations....?!

Question: I woke up in the middle of the night last night with my heart beating out of my chest and could not relax myself.

I had panic attacks years ago but this didn't feel the same. I somehow managed to fall back asleep and was surprised that my heart was still pounding when I awoke.

It's been nearly 24 hours and my face is flushed, my legs feel warm and I'm getting tingling sensations in my hands/feet, and I feel "fluttering" in my chest although my pulse is normal? I can hear my heartbeat in my ear?

I thought it may be dehydration ( i had two cosmopolitans last night) so I drank water, no help. I don't think I'll be able to sleep with this feeling. I am also concerned because I have been working out more this past week and for hte past two days, have tried "HIIT" (high intensity interval training) for the first time. I am in good shape otherwise and am only 28 with no history of any heart issues prior.

Would you go to the ER if you were me?

Thank you for your help...

It sure sounds like, your;e haveing severe anxiety episodes, mixed with hyper-ventilation.I have used a small paper sack to breathe in,it helps with balanceing our oxygen&carbon dioxide ratio.I would go and seek out anti-anxiety meds, also learn some relaxation techniques.I've been where you are,I feel your pain.there is help go for it asap.paladin

not the er, but i would go to the doctor right away.

Go to your doctor in the morning.... Or the er if you really dont feel any better

Anxiety anyone?
But to be safe go to ER.
Maybe they'll find some exotic aberration, or a metabolic reason for feeling weird.

Well sometimes if you really havent gotten use to working that hard then maybe you were having and anxiety attack.. I had one of those and swore I was going to die.. Mine didnt last but for about 2 hours and I was somewhat concious through it all .. All I can say is that I would go to the dr and get if checked out b-c it sounds terrible...

I would go to be on the safe side. Though you may be in good shape, I think you may have over exerted yourself. The symptoms seem as if it's not only "work out" related.

BLOOD PRESSURE HIGH GO DOCS AND LAY OFF THE EXERCISING FOR A WHILE FIT PEOPLE CAN SUFFER AS WELL AS THE UNFIT

if you are not worried or stressed about something really serious, I would go to the doctor tomorrow.

It sounds like something with your circulation. You might try something like benadryll before you go to bed, might help with relaxation. You might try talking to your doctor if it continues...other than that, I hope I've been helpful! I hope you feel better soon!

yes i would. because my dad had the same thing you had one time and it turned out he had a mild heart attack and he was only 44. so yes i would go to the hospital.

Ive heard of stories where after you do SUPER hardcore excersise, you can get pretty sick, and any little thing can make you sick.. or feel like that..

hmm/ sorry i dont know:(

i'd go to the doc

Do you have any Doc.-In-The-Boxes where you live , or 24 Hr. Walk-In clinics?

If it is really bad and you feel for your life then go to the E.R.. Sometimes It is something that needs a more detailed examination that only ultra sound , E.E.G., or C.A.T.Scan can Pinpoint/Disprove! ! !.
Good Luck!
