Appendicitis?!

Question: My daughter is six and she is telling me all day that her tummy hurts. She first told me it "kinda" hurt now, as tha day has gone by...it "REALLY REALLY" hurts. the area she is telling me that hurts is like in the lower belly button area and she has thrown up twice and had diarreha once. She has no appitite and dosen't even want to eat a popsicle! That tells me there is something amiss. Maybe i should take her to the ER? Does this sound like appendicitis?

Anytime your child is throwing up and has pain, go to a Dr....It's the weekend so go to a hospital or clinic where they can determine if she has appendicitis.
If your daughter is laying on her back and you gently push in on her tummy, it will hurt more when you LET GO, not push down. If that happens, call an ambulance, appendicitis is very dangerous.
Now get dressed and get your daughter to a Doctor.
I hope it is not anything serious, but be safe.

better be safe and take her too see a doc if it burst could die from it its like poison

it doesn't sound like appendicitis, but it DOES sound like a bowel obstruction, wihch can be just as dangerous. The appendix is normally located in the right mid-quadrant of the abdomen, nearer your side than your navel. Your child is young; could she have swallowed a small toy or something? Absolutely take her to an ER and have an MRI or other diagnostics done.

its a possibility, get her to the er asap.if theres a fever then its really a cause for alarm ( an infection).i hope your daughter feels better.

Take her to the ER...something more major could be going on...especially since she is throwing up. She could have a major infection somewhere or appendicitis. Better get it checked out.

It sounds like your child has a virus. It is not a bowel obstruction. She is having diarrhea. But, she could get dehydrated very easily so a medical consult would be a good idea.

I am 17 and had my appendix removed last month, the average age for appendicitis is 10-20 the main symptoms are pain in the lower right abdomen, nausia, and loss of hunger. As long as nothing is eaten or dranken than the infection(if it is appendicitis) will not worsen. You dont really have any major worries if the pain is not on her right side of the abdomen. If it is appendicitis they can remove her appendix laproscopically, in which, they insert 3 tubelike things through the abdominal wall and remove the appendix through one of the holes. My recovery time was only 2 days, although i had to wait two weeks before i was 100% normal.
