Can someone tell me what it is or where is might find out what it is.

It is called Loratasine---it is an ANTIHISTAMINE much like benedryal in is only 10 Milligrams and it is an over the counter pill... ANYONE can buy them in a grocery store or pharmacy... maybe your son has allergies or THINKS he does and wanted to try to see if these helps.... wouldn't hurt to ask him though
