Does anybody have personal experience with Kombucha?!

Question:

Does anybody have personal experience with Kombucha?

I have been drinking Komucha "tea" for a few weeks now after researching it online, does anyone have any personal experiences with Kombucha? What were its effects; good & bad? Have you made it yourself & was it difficult? (I am thinking about trying this myself.)

Answers:

I have been drinking it and making it for over a year. I didn't find any huge difference in general health, but certainly it does help the digestive tract. And who knows, with all the probiotics it has, maybe it has prevented some illness.
It is easy to make. Once you get the 'starter', just add cooled, sugared tea (1 cup sugar, 5 green tea bags, 3 liters water for a gallon jar) and let it set.
I did make the investment in a digital pH meter (online, less than $30) so it is easier to tell when a batch is done. It changes depending on the heat, and in summer, when you have an active culture, it can be ready in just a week! pH 3 or less, it's done.
There are some nice cheap cultures you can get on eBay.
