Sleeping problems?

i can't go to sleep until 2:30 a.m. on a regular basis can someone give me advice on how to get to sleep earlier

Answers:

First thing you need to do is make your room a place for sleep. Make sure your room is cool and dark. Do not use your room for any activity other than sleep if possible. If you need some form of white noise, fans, noise machines, wave makers etc are good, but do not listen to the radio or watch tv to fall asleep as they actually disturb your sleep cycle, and you can become dependant on them for sleep.

Some thing to not do before bed- Watching TV, being on the computer, playing video games are bad right before bed because often times it excites your mind. Try something calming like a warm shower or bath, reading, meditation before bed. Also, working out before bed is good, just make sure you finish at least 1 hour before you plan on sleeping, and take a nice warm shower to relax you.

Some sleep aids are warm tea <they have relaxation and night time teas, look for those> warm milk, a glass of red wine <just one glass, more can disturb your sleep> even just hot water with lemon and honey. If those dont work you can try a pill form of sleep aid, but make sure you go to bed at the same time every night or you wont create a sleep cycle, meletonin is a good natural sleep aid. Then theres tylenol pm or a specific otc sleep aid. if none of those work, talk to your DR, ive found Lunesta and Ambien to be the best RX sleep aids.
