Cheap prescriptions?!
Question:
Cheap prescriptions?
apart from being on benefits is there any wya to get free/cheap doctor prescriptions. Because my mum works under 16 hours a week and is on low income and struggles to pay for her monthly bloodpressure pills so is there anyway she can get help with paying of this. P.S. not eligible for tax credit as now i am out of education
Answers:
I am sure she is legible to some sort of entitlement you can ask the citizens advice bureau for more advice
but i do know that you can buy prescription prepayment certificate for either 4 or 12 months (maybe 6 i am not sure)
-4 months will cost £32.90
-£90.40 for 12 months.
each prescription costs £6.30 so as long as there are more than 5 presciptions or items in 4 months or 14 in 12months then this is definitely worth while. The prepayment prescription scheme allows you to obtain as MANY items/ orescirptions as you need within that period with no extra cost (other than the one payment you pay in order to get the card).
I hope this helps, my mum uses it and its great she saved lots of money!
