Yes. When the sympotms don't so much feel like they are of the acidic variety but cause generalised chest pain, I have managed to let myself believe that Iam dying and the panic gets out of control. It's one of the most uncool feelings in the world. I think the pain sets you on edge and your stress tolerance goes way down. Rescue remedy has helped me control panic before it gets out of contol and a book called Hyperventilation Syndrome by Dinah Bradley was a lifesaver.
