It's not dangerous at all. In fact, SCUBA divers who dive deeply use a mixture of helium and oxygen to breathe. So they breathe in lots of helium for long periods of time, with no ill effects. The reason they do this is because the nitrogen in air can be dangerous when used in very deep water, and even the oxygen, when breathed in high pressure, becomes dangerous. So instead they breathe small amounts of oxygen (which is what you need for your body to work) and large amounts of helium (which is just there for volume, to keep your lungs puffed up, it has no purpose in the body otherwise. But because it is SO safe, that's what scientists have found is the best gas to use).

Not dangerous at all. Just breathe air inbetween sips. The only way Helium can harm you is by asphyxiation, which can only happen if you don't breathe any air inbetween.

Very. The helium replaces the oxygen you need for your brain.
