It is very painful to throw up?!

Question: It is very painful to throw up?
hey, so I'm sick with food poisoning or something. I have two Q's:
1. Is it just me or is throwing up incredibly painful? I hate it and it's so painful it makes me cry. All my muscles hurt and it feels like I'm spilling my gut out.
2. How to prevent dehydration? Ok so I think I risk bad dehydration if I don't be careful. I can't hold anything down, even water. And I'm expelling water fast. help.

Answers:

nooo, it doesnt hurt me usually, but i suppose when youre ill and you dont stop throwing up, it puts a lot of strain on your stomach muscles, which are pushing up your food. eg, doing one situp doesnt hurt, but the more reps you do, the more your muscles will hurt . at least youll have good abs.. ?
with water, you just have to drink it, but dont gulp it, take tiny sips every few minutes, and i mean, tiny sips. that way it wont hit your stomach, and wont make you throw up. its better than nothing :/

Get well sooooon!

I always find throwing up really painful too. Like, all of my muscles, especially my stomach muscles, kill. It's horrible, but I always feel better after I've thrown up and got whatever it is out of my system. But yeah, I hate the actually throwing up bit, so painful.
Maybe you could have a shower or something? I'm not really sure. When I couldn't hold down water whilst in hospital, they put me on a drip. Obviously you can't do that though. So yeah, maybe a shower or something to hydrate your skin?
I'm sorry, I'm not much help. But I hope you feel better soon!

I know what you mean- when you throw up so much your throat feels like its going to cave in! All you can do is keep drinking water. Try and eat something as well, though i know that is easier said than done. Try soup- by now your stomach will probably be completely empty hence the reason you hurt so much. By sticking with soup you stand a better chance of keeping it down. hope this helps. If things continue, or you get worse then go to a hospital. Drastic i know but they will most likely put you on a drip to keep the hydration up. Hopefully it shouldn't come to that though

er, i've been sick before so personal experience!

Throwing up isn't painful, it's more uncomfortable and makes your throat sore. It's usual that your muscles hurt as they aren't used to you being sick. I cry when i'm sick aswell.
To prevent dehydration, just keep drinking water. You should have at least a drink every 2 hours, if your being sick, just keep drinking water. Don't drink too much though as that may make you feel more sick, remember to avoid juice or fizzy drink. hope i helped xx

its not painful. just gross
