I'm Starting To Get A Cold. What Can I Do To Feel Better?!

Question: I'm Starting To Get A Cold. What Can I Do To Feel Better?
Hello!
Ok, so as usual, I'm starting to get a cold. I get sick sooo often and I'm just so over it. Anyway, the current way I'm feeling is sore throat, really runny nose (like, sniffing every 5-10 seconds) and slightly itchy eyes. Now, I now i'm not allergic to anything in the house because I'm only allergic to wet dogs (like when they've had a bath or ran into water) cats and horses. Well, i haven't been anywhere near these animals in months!

Anyway, I'm just wondering what the best way to feel better soon is?
It's too late for me to have a shower or bath because I want to get to bed as soon as possible.
Umm, the only thing I know of is getting a good nights sleep so i'm planning on doing that.

Are there any other home remedies or anything you guys have that really help a cold?? Any advice is super welcome!!
Thank you guys so much!! =)

Answers:

Vitamin C and zinc capsules.
Garlic & Onions (in soup/tomato sauce)
Chicken & Leek Soup
Lots of hot drinks like tea.
Eucalyptus oil/olbas oil to sniff can clear your head.
Uni-Flu medication/nurofen cold and flu.
Strepsils for a sore throat.
Woolly clothes & thermal vest type under garments.
Wrap a scarf around your neck & wear it up around your nose when out and about to prevent colds
Also to prevent colds make sure you keep your feet & hands warm too.
(I read it getting them wet and cold increases the chances of a cold.
Hope you feel better soon.

I am not kidding this works..
Go to a Vitamin Store and buy Echinacea.. take the amount the bottle tells you to and your cold will either not happen, be not as bad and short, or diminish quickly.. it really works, Ive used the pills twice this winter and my cold just didnt really become anything more than a slight sore throat.. read the article below:

tried it. it works. enjoy

I feel your pain, this happens to me all the time.
Have a lemsip, or a hot tea with no milk. Also doing simple things like changing your bedding, having fresh pjs and getting 8 or more hours sleep will help you feel better. Just remember to stay hydrated, and not too hot/not too cold.

You should take vit. C everyday to increase your immune system and also try to drink 1glass of lukewarm water with calamansi and honey..

Hot tea with honey (NO MILK)

Drink about eight glasses of fluid daily this will be more helpful to liquefy and reduce the secretions and get plenty of bed rest. If you have a runny nose because of a bacterial infection, you should take antibiotics to inhibit the causative bacteria.
you may also find more helpful i f you breathe in steam from a mixture of lukewarm water and 2-3 tablespoon of salt the steam removes dust, secretions and any allergies from your nose and helps in getting the secretions out. Honey is another effective runny nose treatment that you can try. use some form of decongestants.

hope this will help.... :)

personal experience and knowledge

Awww :O

So here's some of my home remedies, I wouldn't know if they work, though...

-Chamomile tea, I believe it's... healthy... and like chicken soup, because it's hot it soothes the throat or something and I think it helps get mucus out or something. :P
-Sleep a lot, it does work. I went without enough sleep for weeks while I had a cold and it NEVER got better. -_-
-Some more chamomile tea? :D
-I think a shower is supposed to help when you have time because the steam makes it easier to cough up mucus and ooze it out of all your pores. You know...
-Aaaand some more chamomile tea.

Hope you get better soon :P
