Elavil can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight/UV light, making it easier to burn.

You should avoid tanning salons anyway. The risk of damage to skin is high, and melanoma risks increase greatly for tanners-- and that is certainly not a fun way to die.

If the medication says that it's light-sensitive then it will affect your skin and likely make you burn faster. There are lists of photosensitive medications but nothing that says HOW sensitive they make you - it depends on the person. I would either cut back on the exposure time (start with about 1/2 your normal time and work up slowly from there, being careful not to burn), or hold off until you're finished the meds. Even after you're finished, don't jump back to your normal times - it takes awhile for the drug to be eliminated from your body.
