Your pancreas does not really care how much you weigh!. Being overweight or having a family member with diabetes is not the only way to develop it yourself!.
My son had an illness and was treated with an antibiotic that caused a severe reaction!. He became very ill!. Luckily, the crisis team in intensive care saved his life but not his pancreas!. His pancreas slowly started shutting down (diabetes) and now he is insulin dependent taking manufactured insulin injections to compensate for the lack of insulin produced in the pancreas!. My son did not fit the description for weight or genetic induced diabetes!.!.!. his was caused by an error with pharmaceuticals!.
You should try getting the test redone and it is imperative to follow the directions to a tee!. Fasting means absolutely nothing to eat!.!.!. not even sugary gum or mints! Slightly elevated is not always a sign of diabetes!. Sometimes stress or strenuous exercise will also raise the blood glucose!. Some diet supplements, mood stabilizers (Abilify), foods and beverages will interfere with the bodies natural insulin and glucose absorption rate!. Make sure you inform the doctor if you are taking anything over the counter or prescribed medications, the last time you worked out prior to the test, and the last time you put anything in your mouth such as gum, mints, food, beverages, etc!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
