Question: Has anyone here ever taken Adderall or medication for ADD!? Help please!
I've taken Adderall and I hated it so I stopped taking it but didn't tell my mom!. So now she and the doctor thinks that the Adderall doesn't have its effect on me anymore and prescribed me to a new medication called Focalin!. I just took Focalin for the first time today!. It had the same effects the Adderall did!. I don't eat, I can't sleep, I don't want to be around anybody, I don't want to talk to anybody, I'm all depressed and so much other things!. I thought maybe the Focalin would be different but it's just like the Adderall!. Both medications turn me into a totally different person!. I feel so angry and mad right now and I want to cry!. I have an attitude and snap at anybody who says something to me!. Just now I was washing the dishes and my brother came to annoy me and you don't know how much I wanted to beat the crap out of him or threaten to stab him!. Somehow I just ignored him though!. I'm NOT like this at all but when I take these medications they turn me this insane angressive person!. This is exactly why I secretly stopped taking Adderall because these side effects never went away!. There were times when I wanted to just die because I felt living was pointless!. I talked to my mom about stop taking medication but she said I need to get good grades in school!. But I'm so unhappy and I feel so violent!. I feel like all of these symptoms aren't worth the good grades!.
It seems now that Focalin is doing the same thing!. I can't wait for tomorrow when the side effects go away and I can be my normal cheery self!. Has anybody who's taken any ADD medication had these effects!?
btw I only take the medicine for school!.

Your dose may be too high!. Did you talk to your doctor about the side effects!? Sometimes side effects go away, sometimes not--especially loss of appetite!. Make sure you take it as early as possible in the morning to avoid the sleeping problem!. Another thing you can talk to the doctor about is to put you on the short acting instead of the long acting!. You can take it early in the morning before school about 7am (just after breakfast) then again at 11!. The only bad thing is you will have to go to the clinic in the middle of your school day but it may solve that sleeping thing!. Also if you take it just before or after lunch then that would help the eating thing, too!. Taking it immediately before (5 minutes) or just AFTER lunch will ensure that you eat lunch!.
If you are just taking it for ADD and not ADHD, talk to your doctor about Ritalin!. Sometimes it works better for focusing your attention and impulsivity!. It doesn't always help with the agression, though, if you have that!. In my experience with the kids I work with, Ritalin seems to have the fewest side effects!. The short acting pill is only in your system about 4 hours!.

Sorry! No personal experience!. My nephew has ADD and has been on Adderall!. There are other meds!. Keep an open communication line with your doctor!. Tell the doctor how it is making you feel!. Your doctor may be shocked that you feel this way!. I am guessing mom isn't calling the doctor when you complain!. Call the doctor yourself!. Mom just wants what is best for you and probly knows how important education is!. (It is) Many times kids with ADD will outgrow it at some point in time!. My nephew is so skinny and can't sleep at night either!. He is only 11!. Keep talking to the doctor!. It may turn out that you have been misdiagnosed!. Perhaps an anxiety disorder!. Talk to the doctor and resist the negative energy you are feeling!. I had some of the same feelings you are having when I was on the depovera birth contrll shot!. I was angry and hated everybody and everything!. I went through 6 months (two shots) of that horrible feeling!. Maybe your dose is to high!. Keep talking to the doctor!. They can't help you if they don't know what is happening!. Try stuffing yourself in the am before you take your meds!. Eat bannannas (potasium)!. High protiens!. Cut the sugars (hard!.!.!.Iam addicted to sugar) Cut proccessed foods!. cut dyed foods!. Eat the things that are on the outer walls of the grocery!. produce, meat, dairy!. You may want to vistit a good book store that can help you control ADD by diet alone!. No meds maybe means you have to study harder outside of school to pull the grades!. You need to tell your mom to tell the doctor how you're feeling!. My son was taking Strattera for ADD and he also tried Ritalin!. Both of them made it impossible for him to sleep or eat!. The anger and aggression you are feeling can definitely be a side effect from the medication (I used to work for a child psychiatrist)!. My son is now taking Prozac for anxiety, and until they come out with something for ADD that does not have side effects, my son has to just work harder at focusing in school!. He will be in high school this year so it will definitely be tougher and I'm going to keep a close watch on his inattention and distractibility!. Don't just accept the side effects that are going on with you!. It's not okay!. Sometimes it takes awhile to find the right medication!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
