Anyone take or have taken Seroquel?!

Question: Anyone take or have taken Seroquel!?
My husband was recently diagnosed w/ bipolar, manic depressive disorder (which i do not agree with)

Anyhoo, he is currently in an outpatien rehab program for alochol abuse!. He met w/ a counselor there who came to that assumption!. She prescribed him Seroquel!.

He took a 50mg pill this morning when he arrived to rehab!. I just spoke to him on the phone and he was not himself at all!. I asked him how he felt and he said the only way to describe it was "***'d up!."

So my question to everyone is have you or anyone you know taken the drug Seroquel!? What are some of the side effects and how long do they last!? I already ready what they had to say on wikipedia, but I am looking for some real answers from people w/ personal experience!.

thanks in advanceWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
i took seroquel regularly as part of a mood-stabilizing regimen - but now i take it only as a sleep aid after realizing the heavy drowsiness that accompanies use!. not a bad side-effect, imo!. i have also tried zyprexa, lamictal, abilify - and others!. zyprexa gave me the the weirdest hallucinations ive ever experienced, lamictal turned me into a zombie and abilify had me going like i just took 10 sudafed!. anyway, to answer the question!.!.!. i love seroquel, but i wouldnt take it during the daytime or if my attention is required for more than 15-20 minutes after ingestion :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you two do not agree with the diagnosis, get a second opinion NOW!!
My husband was diagnosed with bipolar disorder several years before I met him, he was prescribed Seroquel and only took it a couple times!. He said it made him feel just wrong!. He never questioned the diagnosis with the doctor because he didn't think he could!. It screwed us big time when we were applying for health insurance last year!. No insurance company would touch him because of that diagnosis!. He got a second opinion and they said he has ADHD (we both agree on that one!) and at the time was suffering from a bout of depression!. Apparently the original diagnosis was because of his normally hyper personality combined with some trouble he got into with alcohol!.

Good luck!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
