Answers:
Actually, over 80% of taste is from smell! The same principle works when you hold your nose and eat!.

When you chew your food, particles of it become suspended in the air in your mouth and are forced out through your nose, thoroughly stimulating the olfactory senses of your nose!

How's that for thought!?!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Taste is a form of direct chemoreception and is one of the traditional five senses!. It refers to the ability to detect the flavor of substances such as food and poisons!. In humans and many other vertebrate animals the sense of taste partners with the less direct sense of smell, in the brain's perception of flavor!. Classical taste sensations include sweet, salty, sour, and bitter!.

Example: You are having vanilla ice cream; your taste sensors taste the sweetness of the ice cream!. Then it is your smell sensors the smell the vanilla esscence of the ice cream!. Combined together is what your brain makes you think is the actual taste of the vanilla ice cream, whereas in fact it is the combination of two sensors working in unison!.

The olfactory system contains both your nasal smell receptors and your taste buds!. Both are controlled by the vagus nerve!. A clogged nose can affect how you taste things due to a change in the signals sent to that nerve!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

because you have a infection it will make your food taste bad!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
