What do you do with old prescription pills?!

Question: I was just wondering what to do with them.

Is there somewhere you take them to dispose of them? Do you just throw them out?

Don't flush it! If you throw your meds down the drain or flush them down the toilet, your medication will be discharged into lakes, rivers, or oceans. Research on the effects of medications in our water has focused on hormone disruption in fish and increased resistance to antibiotics due to an abundance of estrogen and antibiotics in the water. The risks posed by other medications are largely unknown and unstudied.

So what's the "better than flushing" advice? You can take medications back to the pharmacy for "safe" disposal (but not all pharmacies are able to accept this material.) Unfortunately, "safe" disposal means incineration, which is not without its serious health concerns.

A second option is to throw away your medications but first render them unusable by putting glue (such as Elmer's), kitty litter, or used coffee grounds in with the pills and throwing them out in a sealed container.

i usually just flush mine down the toilet. If you put them in the trash just be careful that no child or animal get them

I never have any left over..
but if I did I would def empty the bottle in the trash and throw out the bottle. Dont throw it in the trash with the lid close someone can just grab them.. Atleast if you dump them they dont know what those pills are..

crush them and toss em in the trash. Don't flush them, they get into the water system and back into drinking water.

get high!!!!!!!! haha!!!!! just kidding!!! XD
i dont use pills, but my mom does. with her old pills, she usually...well im not sure what she does with them, lol! i hope she doesnt get high!!!!!!!!!! :O
