1] used needles should be disposed of immediately
2] definitely should not re-stick you with same needle, ever
3] that would not account for a 1 cm. [ about ___ long ]
tear, or the bleeding from the shot [ many people bleed, including me ].
4] immunization shots shouldn't make you dizzy [ although more men faint at shots than women ], and re-sticking you won't either.
5] should take a bit for any pain in arm to show up, depending on which shot it was.

you never closed your second parenthese.

truely bad nurse i had a nurse try to take blood in my hand ad she jus kept stabbin untill she got it

no she was not doing what she was supposed to do, but what happened would not create you to feel any worse (dizziness or other random symptoms) that you would'nt have experienced otherwise. just the cut is what's going to hurt.

sounds like malpractice to me.

she certainly was NoT doing it how she was supposed to
the first needle should have been disposed of properly in a sharps container!!

i would have complained to someone about it. i can't believe she acted as though nothing hapened! She didn't even apologize? Maybe she was intimidated by your good looks. You should call and report that incident to the doctors office where it occured.

Doesn't sound too bad. Accidents happen and no one is perfect. I would at least expect more compassion from her and apologize for her mistake.

She was being very irresponsible. Never should you hold more than 1 needle in your hands when administering a shot.

It's not going to hurt you though, but maybe say something to your doctor. she shouldn't be a nurse doing things like that.

But like I said, you aren't hurt so no harm done I guess

yes! report it! you never ever to do 2 needles at once! thats cruel! atleast she put one in one arm and the other needle in the 2nd. guidlines for needles, if you inject the needle at 90 degrees, you pull it out the same direction 90 degrees. and vice versa. if it was intramuscular the needle should have been inserted into the muscle just enough. if it was subcutaneous (under the skin) it should have not entered the muscle region what so ever. *tisk tisk* I would like to have a few words with that nurse.........

Not malpractice & not necessarily a bad nurse, assuming she was a nurse. Sometimes doctor's will train medical assistants to give shots and do other duties of a "nurse". This is allowed in many states, as long as the doctor is taking responsibility for the assistant's actions.

It doesn't sound like she used the best technique, and was cutting corners a bit, but from what your wrote, I can't understand how the skin got torn. Did you report this to the doctor? If not, you should. Since he is her supervisor, he needs to know how she is performing and keep it from happening to someone else.

Regarding her talking to you like nothing happened . . .she may not have wanted to alarm you. Nurses are taught not to say things like, "Oh my gosh!" or "Oops!" So, don't read too much into that. I'm not trying to defend her actions, but unless you get an infection from the tiny cut (1 cm is very small), then just let it go (after talking with the doctor, of course).
