Daughter with persistant headache?!

Question: I have a 6 year old daughter she has had a headache now for 3 days straight I have tried giveing her tylenol and motrin but it does not ease the pain for her. I took her to the ER the doctor gave her antibiotics for a sinus infection when he didn't even look in her nose. She goes to sleep and stuff but then when she wakes up the headache is still there, and she is crying the pain is so bad. the doc said that if it didn't get anybetter in 48 hours to take her to her regular doc and if it got worse to take her back in. I am at a lose as to what else I can do to help ease her pain. I put her in a dark room with a ool washcloth. any other suggestions I am making sure she drinks ebnough fluids. thanks

don't be afraid to make the doctors explain their recommendations. If she likes dark and quiet she could have a migraine. It is rare, but little kids can get them. usually they are over in 3 days. go back and tell your family dr everything and if they blow you off, go find another doctor.

Get her Panadol, the one for sinus and allergy problems. I had this type of headaches once and the only thing that helped was Panadol.

Also, she could be dehydrated. Get her to drink some Gatorade and see what happens.

Sounds like a migraine, how is she at school? having any problems?

Kids sometimes get stressed out, I know my son did, take her to a doctor and see if he can find out what is causing it

I would take her back to the ER and demand that she be given X-rays and a MRI. A 6 year old with headaches so bad that she wakes up crying could be the sign of some serious problems.
