If you walk into the outpatients / emergency section you can see the Doctor. The length of time you would have to wait would depend on how many people were already waiting ahead of you. They basically run it on a most critical basis. Thus it would also depend on how life threatening your situation was?
In other words, if you're gasping for breath or bleeding profusely they'll generally attend to you straight away?
You do need to also be an Australian resident with a medicare card? They'll still see to you if you aren't an Australian resident but it cost's a bomb ie ~ read a few hundred dollars?
???No. They won't do that?
You would have to go a regular General Practioner and get him to write you out a referral for a specialist ~ which is in this case a Dermatoligist?
A regular allopathic general practioner will cost in the vicinity of $70 - $80.00 with a Medicare refund of about $50.00 if you are an Australian resident? If you aren't an Australian resident you would have to pay the full amount of the original bill unless you have Travel insurance or health cover that is valid in Oz?
