Question: I ask this because im sick of people uneducated in certain areas saying that drinking and drugs are all bad and will mess up your life. Come on people if you have never tried it what makes you think you have any clue what its like.

because the general public is typically grossly misinformed about such matters. people don't have the time or desire to sit down and actually research something, hence, if the media/government/people around them/etc tell them that something is either good or bad, they'll be more inclined to listen and take it at face value. it's sad that people allow themselves to be spoon fed in such a way, but that's why i think people are like that.

Um, they watch other people. Hello!

its just the thought that ppl will get addicted to drinking and drugs and it will ruin their lives..

Every hard drug user started with the light stuff.

I've never put my hand in a fire or smashed it with a hammer, but I know it would hurt.

i think enough studies have been done.

also, even if they have not had personal experiences, im sure they may know someone who has been negatively affected by it.

for instance, i have never done drugs, but my uncle was driving under the influence of marijuana and got in a car wreck.

he is now paralyzed from the waist down.

think about it.

Well why don't you ask people who HAVE tried "any drug or drink at all", like maybe get on down to your local AA or NA meeting and see for yourself the wreckage of people's lives and future and families, go down to your local jail or county hospital and just sort of "hang out", you know, and then get back to us with your "educated" findings.............

Seriously, some drugs and excessive alcohol consumption will be bad for you. It's proven, you look at meth, you see what they make it from? Rat poison? OK, read the labels on rat poisons, it says do not consume or whatever. Obviously, if you take some meth with rat poison in it, it's gonna be pretty frickin deadly.

Excessive alcohol consumption, like more than a pack of beer a day or something, will be harmful to your liver, I believe. Like a pint of beer a day, or a glass of wine a day is fine. But excessive, I stress the word excessive here, alcohol consumption is bad for you.

First of all, drinking messes up your liver. Drugs screw with your head and your lungs, and other organs. If you drink/do drugs and drive, then you are putting us all in danger. It's not a matter of whether it tastes bad, it is medically proven that it is unhealthy. Addiction is a TERRIBLE thing, that WILL mess your life up. Sometimes, espically with drugs, you are paying tons of money that could go towards decent housing or something and they are spending it on drugs.

Drinking on occasion and with a designated driver isnt bad, but drugs are. Beyond that, they are illegal, and jail isnt a great place. If you use weed or drink excessively or do other drugs, you will be paying for it in a few years. It will ruin your lungs so you cant really breathe, and the alcohol will destory your liver. Do what you want, but it's not good. At all.

P.S. It's illegal in the U.S. Idk where you are from. But it's not good, in any sense.

I watched my brother smoke pot, then take speed, then drink alcohol, then take meth, then become addicted to hydrocodone, xanax, and any other prescription drug he could steal. He stole thousands of dollars from his grandfather's trust fund, leaving his grandfather penniless. He stole his mother's credit cards, leaving her deep in debt. He even stole money from my daughter's college savings account. The money went for alcohol and drugs.

Now he has a felony conviction and chronic hepatitis. No one knows where he is. His first wife is an alcoholic; his second wife is dead. One of his daughters is dead of alcohol poisoning; she was 19 and had a 2-year-old baby.

I don't need to try drink and drugs to know that they can do bad things.

It's called common sense, you don't have to eat rat poison to know it will kill you, or drink anti freeze to know it will also kill you. I am a licensed nurse and have lots of experience with alcohol and drug abuse and I know for a fact that it can ruin your life, as well as your body, and in some cases even kill you. What makes you think you are an authority on drugs and alcohol? people that abuse these substances tend to defend them without being well educated on the effects it can have on them, but it's your choice.
