Probably a dumb question but....?!

Question: I don't like to take pills or medicine unless I absolutely have to. I don't know why but it just makes me nervous and I don't like to feel funny. I am taking zoloft and yaz for birth control right now. Is is okay to take cough or cold medicine with these? I mean, I'm pretty sure that I can-but is it possible to have a weird reaction because of my other meds? Does anyone know what I should stay away from when taking zoloft? Thanks,-- Don't make fun of me please--I know I'm a big baby.--lol

Always check with your pharmacist before adding meds to your current regimen - but generally cough and cold preparations are OK with anti-depressants and oral contraceptives.

When taking any medication, there is a small risk of side effects - so talk with the professionals (your pharmacist and your doctor, specifically) if you have concerns.

Hope your cold resolves quickly!

why don't you ask your farmacist? just go to the pharmacy and ask them.. they'll have the best answer!!
take care!

?

some medicines make birth control uneffective so you might want to make sure that you don't take any of those prescriptions

It's not a dumb question it's actually pretty smart to ask if your unsure. Talk to your doctor before taking any medicine for pain, arthritis, fever, or swelling. This includes aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), naproxen (Aleve, Naprosyn), diclofenac (Voltaren), Taking any of these drugs with Zoloft may cause you to bruise or bleed easily.
So make sure the cold medicine you take doesn't have Ibuprofen like advil or mortrin in it so it should be fine.
Yaz is a birth control so taking cold medicine is fine.
