As everyone else says....breathing is the main key. However you may need to see your doctor for help. Your doctor can give you a pill to take the edge off and with your breathing techniques.... you should be fine. You should try to find an activity that is physical that can help release some of your energy. Hope you can get through it!!!

Take REAL deep breaths and think of good things in your life.
If not you can go to the doctor and ask for something to calm you down. Medication such as Atiban may help you.

get into bed be warm , lie there and close your eyes be really still breathe slowly and concentrate on each breath. Do this every day for 10 mins increase this if you need too.. This does work but it takes a lot of disclipline...

Relaxed Breathing technique. Close eyes deep breath in through nose one count 1, breath out through mouth and say relax. Do this while lying on floor and letting all muscles sink into ground. Before starting this technique take heart rate (bpm) before, just do for 15 seconds and multiply by 4, then check rate after, should be same if not slower. Do it for 20 minutes 3 times a day. After time you will become use to it and when you feel that panic/anxiety coming on during the day you will be able to apply this technique at any time during day to day events.

Either that or go get a prescription for Xanax.

anxiety sucks
I dont know any foolproof way, if you find one tell me? :P

erm some things I do are:
take time out by myself and focus on little things like listing as much as I can about something I can see (eg "i can see 3 blades of grass. one is pointed slightly to the left, one sticks straight up, and one sort of goes over the other two. they are a dark green, but not too green, and they grow over ground which is covered in pale yellow dead grass. the dead grass goes in lots of different directions, and slightly to the left of one blade of living grass is-- " etc)
make sure you're breathing properly (in -1, 2, 3, 4, 5. out - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5...)
get an item and take it with me everywhere as a sort of lucky charm/security blanket type thing (something small that you can fiddle with, I take a mini-bullclip)
do relaxation exercises once every day for about half an hour
get enough exercise, eat right, etc
occupy your mind - do homework, maths especially is good because it's all numbers without emotions
read a book, play a game, do something distracting
talk to someone
notice everything about -other- people and look for signs of anxiety in them ("that man keeps tapping his hands on there, maybe he's worried about something...")
write
dance
sing
get friends to spend time with you when you start feeling anxious
find something that makes you less anxious and see if you can transfer it to other areas of your life

mmm that's all I can think of off the top of my head, I'm sure there's more, but there are -heaps- of places online you can find out more stuff to do. (Oh, and try joining moodgym [it's a website] if you want more counsellor-ish stuff)

breathing is a good start but be aware most of us at this age are anxious---the feeling is that you stand out when you just want to blend in. Listening to a radio may help just to take your mind away from your surroundings as well as the quiet special breathing. However you need to keep trying different techniques to find what helps but believe in yourself that you can improve on total panic and be kind as a little improvement is good . Just don't expect too much. Medication may help also as medicine has come a long way from being totally zonked out. It may help initially for you to take control so good luck and remember there are lots of us in the same boat----perhaps talk to someone else who appears anxious as it may help your own problem helping others....
