Is there a nurse or anyone who can answer my question??!

Question: Last night I was extremely irritable and cranky I cried over the littlest things and which really isn't like me at all....

I ate chineese food last night and afterwards I threw it up. This morning I woke up coughing and I was freezing last night for a bit and then began sweating. When I took my temperature though It was normal. I took it 3 times during the night.

Now this morning, I've been coughing again and I took some cough syrup and feel better but when I attempted to eat a bagel I threw that up as well.

I've been on YAZ Birth Control for the past year...and I've had some bad side effects from that I'll be getting off of it in a few days.....

Could it be food poison?
also note: it's almost "that time" of the month
could it be from that as well??
Or could I really be sick??

Well I need a few things answered to help pinpoint.

When did you vomit the Chinese food in relation to you ate it? Do you have Diarrhea ? Are you holding down liquids?

It could be Gastroenteritis, although the vomiting does not seem intense enough, quite often you will throw up bile or the like and the same goes for some sort of food poisoning. Although the chills sound like either but its strange how there is no fever.

For now, obviously, cut out the food, get a pediatric hydration solution such as peadaltye or if you don't have accesses some Gatorade will work, drink at a teaspoon at a time every 10 or 15 minutes. Because of the wide range of symptoms and the inability to pinpoint why, I would recommend going to your Physcican.

You might want to go to the doctor, it could be the beginnings of the flu. It is that season. Also the crankiness could be because of the time of the month.

Those are all possibilities. Sounds like the beginning of a cold/flu to me though. The nausea from pregnancy never made my wife have the chills like you mention. Consider taking acidopilus to get your stomach back on track bacterially speaking...have you take antibiotics in the last week?

I'm not a nurse but i think that you are both sick and also its ur period. Some womens' periods are worse than others. The last time I had my period it was extremely painfully and I could keep nothing down. Eat saltine crackers because you need something in your system and I think that you were irritable because you had a fever. Sometimes we don't know when we get one but when we do we feel really bad and sometimes impatient. Get bed rest especially! I hope that this helped some and i hope that you feel better.
