How do u know if your having a panic attack?!
Question: today my mum was talking to a nurse on the phone becouse she was getting advice,i happened to have a realy bad allergic reaction today........i over heard her telling the nurse that i have panic attacks,i dont know if thats true,
i so tend to get worked up pretty easy and sometimes i get so hysterical i cant talk,i breath realy deeply and i cant talk coz im so hysterical, i doubt this is a panic attack im having, waht happens when you have one?xxxxx

Sounds like panic attacks. BUT- forget the drugs! Print this for your mom to read. I started having panic attacks almost 10 years ago. The Doc's gave me different meds to try to "fix" this problem. They sent me to a shrink and a counselor. They put me on Effexor- the worst thing I've ever allowed to be done to me. (please read what other people are saying about this SSRI via the link below). They were all just band-aids for the problem. I will never take another SSRI as long as I live!! I spent hundreds of dollars on the Lucinda Basset tapes for panic attacks- did nothing for me- did tons of research and finally met a doctor who had a brain!!! She gave me a saliva test for adrenal fatigue. Turns out panic attacks are caused by certain deficiencies in the body such as low Epinephrine, high Cortisol, Doapamine, Serotonin. Tell your doctor to order this test for you. It is the only real way to find out what's actually wrong so that they can fix it. I swear I think doctors must be taking kick backs from the drug companies so they just keep us medicated instead of trying to fix the real problem and help us.

That sounds like a panic attack.
Panic attacks can effect your thought process, making it difficult to verbalize your thoughts. I had what I thought was one once, and I freezing cold while sweating profusely.
I could feel my heart rate increase, in fact it felt like it was going to burst right out of my chest. And yes I couldn't speak coherently.
I think you could use a phys & psych checkup.
A really bad allergic reaction includes hives, watery, itchy eyes, swelling of the tongue, and closing of your windpipe. An asthma attack could ensue--taking an inhaler might help, but an antihistamine and a steroid is common treatment.
A panic attack is when you are scared of something. I had one because I'm scared of the dark. One time, when my meds were messed up, my husband turned off the light (it was bedtime) and went into another room. I felt like the darkness was just closing in on me. My heart beat super-fast, and I couldn't breathe, I was more scared than I've ever been. I started to scream. My husband ran back into the room, turned the light back on, held me in his arms and I was okay.
