I think I have a disorder?!
Question: I sneeze when I go out in the sun, and it used to not bother me.
I realize now that I have a serious disorder, and I demand a medication with a catchy name and a dancing symbol (with potentially fatal side effects), and an extensive commercial campaign. People must run to their doctors, wondering how they ever lived without this medication before.

I don't want to get racial here, but this is something odd that I've wondered about. I've known white people who have told me that when they need to sneeze they have to look up at a light to finish or it gets "stuck". That seemed very weird to me and I asked around. Several other white people confirmed it but every black person I asked said it sounded crazy!
Now, I am wondering if there's some connection between histamine, melanin, and receptivity to light. Seriously.
But your question cracked me up!

These conversations were before the days of Google. I just found this though:

Wow! It's NOT just a "stereotype"!
"Photic sneeze reflex occurs in something like one-sixth to one-quarter of the population. It occurs more often in Caucasians than Afro-Americans or Orientals."

Apparently the military studied this because of the risk of pilots sneezing while flying at supersonic speeds.
