Why do some people say pork is bad is there any medical evidence?!

Question: to this

Answers: to this

The OLD Testament said things with split hooves were unclean. The NEW Testament says that rule is void. SO, the people you find saying, "No," to pork are likely people who adhere to the Old Testament, but not the New.
Medically, it's meat. There are some organisms in a pig's microflora (all the little creatures that life inside the pig) that cause food-borne disease in humans. That's why it has to be cooked thoroughly. A properly cooked piece of ham is just as "sterile" as a properly cooked piece of chicken breast.

It does raise your triglyceride levels, but I think mostly it is a religious thing.

it's not that pork is bad for you, It 's just that some religions consider the pig an unclean animal and don't eat it.

The bible says it's unclean and there is medical evidence due to fat and salt. So those with heart issues or hypertension need to stay away from pork. Think about the ingredients in country ham, sausage, and bacon.

No. Some cuts of pork can be high in fat, but then so can cuts of beef. As long as it is cooked properly, there is no medical evidence saying 'pork is bad'. None.

Religions like Judaism and Islam 'forbid' pork because pigs are seen as an 'unclean' animal. However, personally I've seen some pigs that are cleaner than humans. GO figure.

Pork gets a bad reputation because pigs are fed all the worst stuff immaginable (it's essentially garbage, waste food scraps, etc). Also, it is considered an "unclean" animal by some religions. In the past, before there were any health inspections, people used to get trichinosis and other diseases from pork. I think is OK to eat well cooked pork, but in moderation; don't go "hog-wild"!

In my religon, the explanation ive heard (cant vouch for its correctness within the religon but this is what my friend said) that pork and ham and ay other meat coming from pigs is considered unclean because the pig is an animal that would eat anything and therefore it eats things which are bad for humans, and since the components of meat are broken down and incorporated into the tissues of human, eating meat from a pig is bad for humans. This is unlike other animals which are allowed in teh religon such as sheep, cows or goat which eat grass, which is good for humans.

In Biblical times, the pig was easily infected because its short hook-like tail caught feces. The bacteria in the feces would get transferred back into the pig and cause disease. The pig does not have a tail that lifts up like in other animals. Because of this, the current USDA guidelines require that the pig's tails be snipped, and also require the animals to be routinely checked by a vet.

The prohibition of pork is in the Jewish and Muslim faiths for the same health reasons; unfortunately, an outdated custom.

Its no worse than any other foods, if you listen to some people everything we eat is bad for us so eat up we are all going to die sometime.
