hiccups are a muscle twitch in your diaphragm. i was told once that muscle twitches are a sign of vitamin deficiency - don't know if it's true. a SURE cure is one spoon full (level) of sugar wet with vinegar (just enough to get the sugar soupy wet). it sounds terrible but it's not really all that bad and I've had a 100% success rate.
maybe you don't drink water that often..
