root canal question ?!
Question: Root canal question ?
Answers:
Teeth can die for a number of reasons and not all of them require root canals. If your tooth died due to a very large cavity then you should get it done because the bacteria in the cavity can invade through your tooth into your jaw and put you at risk for a severe infection inside your jaw. The needles from getting the anesthetic injection are small and the slight pain from the prick of the needle is nothing compared to what kind of pain you may get from a full blown abscess.
Don't be scared, you'll be ok. Just tell the doctor how you feel and I'm sure he/she will be as gentle as possible. I had a root canal done and it really wasn't that big a deal. The first shot to numb you up is a little bit painful, but after that it isn't that much worse than a regular cavity filling. And they give you these lovely pain pills afterward that make everything groovy.
