Is brushing your teeth all the time bad?!
Question: Is brushing your teeth all the time bad?
Answers:
It sounds like you are very dedicated to keeping your teeth clean which is great, but you can definitely brush your teeth too much. Scrubbing your teeth too much can cause something called toothbrush abrasion, where you are placing excessive wear on your teeth from your toothbrush and rubbing off tiny layers of your teeth. You can help prevent this by doing the following:
? Limit yourself to brushing 2-3 times a day instead of 6.
? Brush before meals (sugars/acids in foods will make your enamel softer), so your remove bacteria before you "feed" them.
? Use a low-abrasive toothpaste (Pronamel and Colgate Total are my favorites), and not whitening or tartar control toothpastes.
I know flossing is a big pain, but it is probably even more important than brushing. To make things easier for yourself go to the store and pick up a Waterflosser (ex. Waterpik). It is better than floss, and a lot easier to get around your braces.

It's not bad, but you need to be careful because brushing too much and too hard can cause your enamel to wear off. Plus, if you're cleaning more now than you were before, you can get some discolorment, which isn't good. Keeping them clean doesn't neccesarily mean you'll get them off faster; it just means the end product will look a lot better.
You will wear away your teeth you should only brush 2 times a day or after meals and they have braces floss that you can use. it is important to floss unless you want something like gum diease
