Having a lot of pain in gums over wisdom teeth, what is causing it?!
Question: Having a lot of pain in gums over wisdom teeth, what is causing it?
Answers:
you're going to have to go see a doctor anyway. so just go.
as to what the problem could be: if it isn't an impacted wisdom tooth giving you problems then the tooth that is in front of that spot is either cracked, decaying or has an abcess. all are things that need to be taken care of right away since a cracked tooth can get bacteria in it and begin decaying and go into abcess. an abcessed tooth can send bacteria to your heart and cause heart problems. The infection can also spread to your other teeth and cause your other teeth to decay and the abcess can spread to your jaw bone and you could lose your jaw bone.
if it is just decay then the dentist will fill the tooth. if it is cracked then they will make a crown for you. if it is abcessed then they will start you on a course of antibiotics, make a crown for you, and perform a root canal.
if it is an impacted wisdom tooth then they will have to cut into the gum line to remove the tooth.
your dentist will work w/ you on a payment plan if you aren't insured and unable to pay the bill all at once. moving forward, I suggest you look into an individual dental plan. my company doesn't provide insurance to me, so I have to buy my own. I have a full coverage dental policy that costs under $200 a year. you can do some research on the internet to find the best individual policy for you.
if you want a place to start and want to know which company I'm with then feel free to email me. I'm not going to name them here because I don't want to be accused of spamming.
