Hello
sounds like you have gum disease. Make sure you brush your teeth 2 times a day( 2-3 minutes each time) with a soft headed tooth brush and do not brush too hard as this can damage your teeth and gums( wear away tooth enamel and make your gums recede). Also floss once a day as this will remove any food and plaque that a tooth brush cannot reach in between your teeth and on the gum line. Avoid eating too much sugar as this causes plaque to form and rots the teeth and also builds up around your gums causing them to swell and bleed. Flossing stops plaque building up so stops the gums getting inflamed so stops gum disease and bleeding gums. If you do not normally floss your gums may bleed for a few days as they are inflamed. But as they days go by and the plaque is removed, the inflammation will go down and the bleeding will stop. So do keep flossing and the bleeding will stop normally within 1 week.
Your gums are hurting when you bite down as they are sore and inflamed. Maybe a tooth has food trapped in between it and the food is going off and has infected the gum. I have had this happen in the past and it is not nice. So floss the gums and rinse your mouth out with warm salt water 4 times a day which will help kill any germs and bacteria.
Avoid acidic foods too and drinks which can weaken tooth enamel and irritate sore gums. Things like fizzy drinks and oranges and spicy foods may make the pain worse. Try eating tooth kind foods like milk and yogurt and apples and cheese and fresh veggies and fish and meat. Less plaque will then form and your mouth will stay cleaner. Be gentle when brushing and flossing and if you use a mouth wash , use an alcohol free one.
Hope this helps and good luck.
