I have bad toothache but my dentist can't find the problem. Help it's !
Question: I have bad toothache but my dentist can't find the problem. Help it's driving me nuts.?
Answers:
Sometimes a tooth can fracture and this will give symptoms like yours, but will not show up on xray.
Referred pain can also confuse the issue. If the root filling has not eased it then it is either another tooth or a different issue.
If you were sure which tooth then extraction might be your best bet. But you need to rule out sinus issues as the pain from that can mean that upper and lower can be painful.
Why run it past a different dentist?
Hello, Ok..what you describe I've dealt with on a number of occasions when I was in active practice. many many times the kind of tooth pain you describe was the result of a sinus infection. Sinus infections can cause sinus swelling and that swelling can put pressure on the nerves that service the jaws and teeth causing a pain in the jaw and the teeth. You may need to see an ENT Dr. (Ear,Nose & Throat) specialist. He or she can diagnose any sinus isuue that is present...Keep in mind that any infection can be serious and I'm talking SERIOUS, don't ignore it any longer. Good luck and I wish you well.

Do you have sinus issues? My mom was in a situation like this a couple years ago and it was that she had a bad sinus infection and it made her teeth hurt really bad. The dentist was about to do a double root canal before my mom's regular doctor discovered that it was a sinus infection.
Try a family doctor or an Ears Nose and Throat specialist to make sure it isn't in your sinuses first.
