Question: My 2.5 yr old son's jaw squeaks when he eats, what can we do?
When my 2.5 yr old son eats, particularly when he eats fruit, his jaw squeaks like a creaky door. Why is that? It's not a clicking or a popping. Is there anything we can do? Could it be TMJ?

TMJ = temporomandibular joint, or the jaw joint.
You can consult a dentist or a pediatric dentist. If they are concerned, they will refer you to a TMJ specialist (a specialized area of dentistry). A "real doctor" won't be able to tell you much.
Oh that's funny.. ask your pedi. TMJ is not determined to be a real condition at this point. Its just theorized.
