Question: What are the steps to becoming a dental hygienistt!?
Just to give some background!. I currently hold an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts and have been working in the IT field for the past 5 years!. I don't think i want to continue in this career field, because I do not have a lot of people time!. I am also planning on moving to Cairo Egypt next year for the next two years, is it possible to go to school completely online or are there ADA certified schools out there!? It depends on which college program for dental hygiene you choose to attend!. Some require a (undergrad) 4 year bachelor of science degree, others a 2 year associate degree!. Most dental hygiene programs are 2-3 years themselves!. And, yes, they all involve hands-on clinical work as well!. Dental hygienists in all U!.S!. state MUST be licensed (as dentists must be as well) and to keep the licensing current, they must attend continuing education classes each year!. It's a lot of time and effort involved but the rewards (pay scales are relatively high - with lots of personal satisfaction interacting with patients) are enormous! Dental Hygiene is harder than it sounds!. You have to be able to pass college-level chemistry, which is where most of the people I know who wanted to go into it ended up changing majors!. It's also very hands-on so no, there is no (legitimate) online school for it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
